Thoughts contorted, wandering lost inside of a bronze forest, off course, absorbed by the force of constant distortion.
Gone is the wind and it’s hot. The sun scorches my brow sending intense drops of sweat ever pouring down…
onto the floor. Long corridor flanked on each side by tall trees interlocked so tightly,
It forces me to walk forward, never having any concept of where I came from or where I’m going.
Autumn tones cover the path I travel alone. No stone unturned. It’s solemn, feels like no hope.
The narrow straight goes forever. There is no gate or door for me to pass through, as if it leads to no place.
Humid stench singes my nostrils like the rot of corpses decayed for days inside the belly of a hidden fortress.
Feet tortured by the shrieks of the street’s coarseness, shredding my soles until they bleed leaving stinging sores.
My stomach’s swollen, ever hungry, never full. Joints wale in the agony of pain that will never dull.
And though the sun shines, it’s dim, light eclipsed by shadows of a life that feels like it was already lived.
And now I walk never finding any rest. Weary from the days before but knowing that this will never end.
A nomad cursed to travel in eternal strife
Because I turned away from the One who gave eternal life.
